ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
It is our club AGM next Thursday evening. We need nominations for Treasurer and Secretary so please email Graham and me if interested!!
BURGHFIELD MAY FAYRE AND SCARECROW TRAIL
At Burghfield May Fayre we were asked whether the Club could provide someone to photograph the Burghfield Scarecrows (24 of them) when they are on display between 25th May and 1st June. Our Membership Secretary John asked if I could circulate to members asking for volunteers. Please reply to me or John and we will send you the maps.
Our presence at Burghfield May Fayre was a great success with a lot of interested people around. John said 18 people (yes, EIGHTEEN!!) expressed an interest in the Saturday Beginner’s Workshop.
JOINT EVENING WITH TRIANGLE TRAVEL
Our advert reads: Burghfield Camera Club and Triangle Travel are joining forces to present an evening entitled "Picturing the Perfect Holiday". Steve Hyde from travel company Distinctive Americas, will give an insight into the travel industry. Sarah Siese, author, travel writer, and television presenter will talk about her recent experiences. Finally John Wood, a member of Burghfield Camera Club, will highlight the difficulties of taking good holiday photographs and demonstrate ways to improve them. There will also be a display of photographs taken by Burghfield Camera Club members and staff of Triangle Travel. Come and join us for an interactive and entertaining evening . Refreshments will be provided. When: 19th June 2013. Where: St John's Hall, Mortimer. Time: 7pm
THEMED PROJECT/ COMPETITION
Finally, in the past we have had a themed competition and this year we've decided to extend this idea by having
1. an introduction session or speaker,
2. a visit to a location related to the theme followed up by
3. a workshop to process/ view the output/ discuss.
There has been much discussion and many questions about the theme of 'Reading'. The first evening on 27th June should answer all the questions you have! Come along and we'll discuss the brief, discuss ideas, brainstorm approaches and hopefully provide a little inspiration. Please do a search on the internet and bring along ONE image from someone else that you think fits the theme. Print or media card on the evening or email to me beforehand is fine.
